Mesilla Valley Iris Society Guest Speaker David Toff
Renowned iris hybridizer, David Toff from Nebraska gave a presentation to MVIS. (Region 21). David has made significant contributions to the world of irises, hybridizing many Tall Bearded (TB), Standard Dwarf Bearded (SDB), Intermediate Bearded (IB), and Border Bearded (BB) irises.
- David Toff gave a presentation on his iris hybridization work, including showing pictures of his and his daughters iris creations. He spoke about the challenges and rewards of iris hybridization, and the genetics involved in creating new varieties. He discussed his work with variegated foliage irises, and his greenhouse growing techniques.
