The Mesilla Valley Iris Society board met in early November to discuss the status of the 2021 AIS National Convention. Due to CoVid-19 wide spread across the country, MVIS has decided to postpone the AIS national convention until April 11-16, 2022. We are aware that Easter is just afterwards on April 17. However, scheduling the convention two weeks later would be after peak season. This will give time for everyone to receive the required two doses of the vaccine. At this moment it appears only some people would be vaccinated in time for the 2021 convention date.
Of course, this means our gardens will be especially spectacular. It gives more time for preparations. It also means more irises for the region once the convention is finally over!
