MVIS club members and members from other AIS Region 23 clubs joined forces to plant the nearly 700 varieties (almost 2000 irises) in August 2019 for the 2021 AIS National Convention. There are 6 tour gardens. 

First, the MVIS club prepared the garden at the Farm and Ranch Museum. This involved digging out about 8-inches of poor soil and replacing it with better soil that had bio-solids mixed in.  New Mexico State University students prepared the site at the Fabian-Garcia Gardens.  Commercial gardens Blue J Irises and Calhouns Flower Farm Prepared their own irises beds.  Two of the tour gardens are private gardens; Scarlett Ayres and Cynthia and Wes Wilson.
