Calhoun Flower Farm in La Mesa, NM provides fresh cut flowers to groceries stores, local restaurants, weddings and other establishments.  They also have classes on how to make wreathes, homemade décor and other apothecary goods.  This is a women owned business.  Emily Calhoun traveled abroad while in college and found out that 80% of the flowers sold in the US are shipped in from out of country.  So she and her sisters Tiana and Lily and their mother Diane started the family-owned flower farm to create locally sourced flowers.  They have zoom meetings and create workshops to educate the public.  About 250 irises are planted in this garden.

The Calhouns are a fourth-generation farming family.  Their grandmother Nadine was a well-known local irisarian in her day and the garden is dedicated to the memory of her.  Nadine was an exceptional gardener and irises were her true passion.  You can find them on Facebook and view their farm at
